My husband and I just moved into a brand new house in beautiful Camarillo, California, and the best part for me is the big open upstairs bonus room that now houses my art studio. It's more than twice the size of my old "sewing den" at our previous home in Reno, Nevada.
Picture of empty room
This is the empty studio space before we moved in. The entire upstairs workspace, including studio, office, and small bathroom, measures a little over 500 square feet.
MessyStudio
Here's how the room looked the day after we moved in. I clearly had a lot of work to do. (If you look closely you can find a cat among the mess.)
Picture of assembled work table
The first thing I did was assemble the big work/cutting table from Sew-Brite.com. It's my favorite, most useful piece of furniture.

Picture of upstairs office
If you turn right at the top of the stairs, you'll enter the office.
Picture of completed studio
And to the left is the completed studio space, all ready for me to get to work. It will never be this tidy again.

Here's another view of the studio showing off some of the storage space. The cutting table in the foreground is from Sew-Brite.com, and the shelves and cabinets against the back wall are from Ikea. I also have lots of plastic bins and baskets, rolling carts, thread racks and wall shelves. (Have you noticed how my cat Rory loves to be in front of the camera?)

Below are some more views of the studio. Next time you see it, I guarantee it won't be so tidy.
