The young phoenix emerges from the ashes of its ancestor, and with a look of joy it stretches its wings and prepares to fly.
It's 48" wide x 30" tall x 20" deep. The base is 8" diameter.
I enjoy creating birds from fabric and mixed media, but I'm never quite sure how they'll turn out. As I test and reject various embellishments, the bird's personality emerges. The final product is often as much a surprise to me as it is to the viewer.
